2025 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Saanich Volunteer Services Society AGM!
Annual General Meeting for Saanich Volunteer Services Society
Saanich Volunteer Services (SVSS) matches our clients who need help with volunteers eager to provide it. SVSS supports adults over nineteen to live independently by providing some volunteer assistance. Our small staff team also supports volunteers to provide clients with onsite programming and resources.
Delivering food hampers, driving to appointments, visiting for companionship, helping with light yard work and doing minor home repairs are a few ways our volunteers assist our clients. Our onsite reception volunteers assist with resource referrals and our onsite program volunteers may serve lunch one day and speak about a trip to a group of clients another day. SVSS volunteer tax preparers help complete income tax returns for our regular clientele, as well as for other residents of the Capital Regional District.
With all of these services, Saanich Volunteer Services Society volunteers foster and build community in Saanich. We take care of each other!
Our organization runs with volunteers and a small core of four staff members.
We accept donations to continue to provide our programs, improve our services, and to ensure we can continue to meet an ever-widening need in our Saanich community.
If you are able to donate, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for donations over $25.
“Retirement meant it was time for me to offer my services to organizations where I could make a difference in other people’s lives.
Little did I realize how good it made me feel to help others live a better life because we CARED.”
-Marie, Volunteer
“The SVSS shopping bus excursion is the highlight of the week for us. Not only do we get the weekly shopping done, with all the help we need, we also get to know like-minded people.
To meet others is extremely important for every one’s mental well-being. We look forward to our weekly adventure, combining pleasure with the necessities of life.”
